tournament registration includes two evenings of mixed triples!
Serve2Cure is back for the 2021 tournament! This year’s tournament has been modified from previous years’ tournaments to incorporate all of the fun from the past while ensuring a safe environment for players and organizers.
Held at the Mt. Lebanon Tennis Center, the tournament will span two weekends and will provide participants with the flexibility to play in one, two, three or all four triples sessions that the tournament will include. Registration is $50 and includes up to 4 rounds of triples, pre-packaged snacks and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Cancer Caring Center.
Join us this fall in rallying our region’s tennis community in an effort to show our strength against cancer!
Triples Tennis
Triples tennis is a fun way to play tennis and get in a killer workout! It is fast-paced and enables more people to play the game at once. Each triples team consists of at least 4 players at either the Intermediate (3.0 - 3.5) and Advanced (3.5+) levels. Triples is a 3 on 3 format with one player at the net and two at the baseline for each team. After each point concludes, players rotate on and off of the court.
There will be four rounds of triples during the tournament:
Saturday, September 11, 2021
Round 1: 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Round 2: 8:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 18, 2021
Round 3: 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Round 4: 8:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
We highly encourage triples teams to be co-ed. To ensure fair play, no more than two men should be on the court for a given team at once.
A USTA ranking is not necessary, but if you are ranked, please play in your ranking level. If you are not ranked by the USTA, please self-rate and play where you feel most comfortable. Tennis rankings for triples play are 3.0-3.5 (Intermediate) and 3.5+ (Advanced). Each triples team should be comprised of Intermediate or Advanced players.
